CALGARY, ALBERTA-- Newalta Income Fund: Board Of Directors Are
Pleased To Announce The Appointment Of Mr. Barry D. Stewart To The
Board Of Directors.

Mr. Stewart recently retired as Executive Vice President of Suncor
Energy Inc., culminating a 40 year career in the industry with
Suncor, Petro-Canada and Imperial Oil.  Mr. Stewart's experience
includes many executive and technical roles, domestically and
internationally.  He has been particularly involved with
environmental issues and policy development in both the upstream
and downstream segments of the industry.  Currently he is
President of Barizco Enterprises Inc., and Chairman of the Board
of the Center for Affordable Water and Sanitation Technology, a
non-profit organization focused on supplying clean water in
underdeveloped countries.

Mr. Stewart is a past member of the Board of Canadian Association
of Petroleum Producers (CAAP) and Canadian Petroleum Products
Institute (CPPI).

Mr. Stewart is originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Barry and his
wife Pat have three (3) married children and three (3)
grandchildren, and currently reside in Calgary, Alberta and
Scottsdale, Arizona.
